Fox Valley Symphony Introduces MUSIC FOR A CAUSE!
February 21, 2011
The Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra Association (FVSOA) is introducing Music for a Cause, a new partnership with area nonprofit organizations. Each Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra (FVSO) season concert will have one Music for a Cause partner. The Symphony will donate 75% of the proceeds of certain tickets sold to the participating charity. Volunteers for each organization will be in the lobby at the Fox Cities P.A.C. for each FVSO concert.
Music for a Cause will begin on March 5 for FVSO’s matinee and evening performances of Cirque de la Symphonie (see below for more details about the concert). The Fox Valley Humane Association (FVHA) is first to participate in the program and will have their own canine ambassador, Wilma, in the lobby for each performance. Wilma, a certified therapy dog, will also join the Fox Valley Symphony Youth Orchestras for the Partners in Education concert on March 7 where students from participating schools will be donating dog and cat food to the FVHA.
“The Symphony is very excited to partner with Fox Valley Humane Association. Using our combined efforts, we can increase awareness of each organization, and bring new audiences to the Symphony,” says FVSOA Executive Director Marta Weldon.
Kate Mueller of the Fox Valley Humane Association adds, "We are excited to partner with Fox Valley Symphony for Music for a Cause. What a wonderful way for two vital, local, non-profit organizations to team up and touch the community while benefiting the animals at the shelter!"
