Bring Opportunities To Our Children
Special Summer Symphony Event for Children!
Bring your family to meet the percussion family on Friday, June 20th! Bring your children (ages 5-12) to have an exciting hands-on experience and meet the members of the Percussion Family of the Fox Valley Symphony. The 30-minute concert will showcase the various percussion instruments and styles of music. After the concert, parents and children are invited to stay and try percussion instruments at a "petting zoo". You can meet the Fox Valley Symphony percussionists at two locations:
- Appleton Public Library - 225 N. Oneida St., Appleton

Youth Orchestras and Education Programs
The Fox Valley Symphony is very focused on providing opportunities for young musicians in the Fox Valley area through sponsoring two youth orchestras, a in-school music education program and other music-related youth activities.
Youth Orchestras
The Fox Valley Symphony proudly sponsors two auditioned youth orchestras for area middle and high school musicians. The Youth Orchestras provide students an opportunity to further their musical talents while meeting new friends and performing in public venues. The FVS Youth Symphony and FVS Philharmonia Strings have attained a reputation as leading orchestras for young musicians in Northeast Wisconsin.
The Fox Valley Symphony believes that youth orchestras greatly enhance the culture and society of the community. The FVS works to advance the musical skills of all participants. To this end, our Youth Orchestras offer our students:
- sectionals and coaching by professional musicians
- masterclasses by world renowned artists. (The 2005-2006 season featured Miriam Fried, violinist.)
- performances at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center–a state of the art concert facility
- guest conductors and clinicians
- weekend retreats
- tours
- student rush discounts to all Fox Valley Symphony concerts
