"Sounds like a poem, looks like a painting." - Menuhin. At age 12, Gu won first prize in China's Fourth National Violin Competition. At 13, she was invited to perform the Saint-Saëns Violin Concerto in England with Yehudi Menuhin at the baton. Since coming to America, Gu has performed frequently as a guest soloist with orchestras and at concert series throughout the world. Since 2006, Gu has been assistant professor of music at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music.
