The Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with The Building for Kids Children's Museum, is excited to be a part of a multi-part collaboration celebrating music and the visual arts in our community.

Student Engagement - Appleton area students in grades 3-4 will learn about and listen to a featured piece of music. After listening and learning, they will respond with the creation of their own artworks in their visual art classes. This year's featured music is: Ein Heldenleben, TrV 190, Op. 40 ("A Hero's Life") by Richard Strauss (1864-1949).

Click here for more information on this piece.

Do not miss your opportunity to see a selection of these student artworks pieces to be featured at the November 19th Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra concert when our orchestra performs Ein Heldneleben.

The 50-piece exhibit will then move to The Building for Kids Children's Museum and open to the public on Small Business Saturday (November 26th) from 9am-Noon.

Community Engagement - Throughout the year, local artists will work with the broader community at public events or in small groups to create visual artwork from recycled instruments. If you have a group or public event where you would like to create re-purposed instrument art, please contact Oliver Zornow.

Community Celebration - Watch for details in Spring 2017 about a community wide exhibition of all of the artwork created as part of this program.

Thank you so much to all of our community partners who make this collaboration possible including:
